Shop Mod Mauve

Mod Mauve

$300.00

The depth and subtlety of color in this poof is a great testament to the beauty of hand-dyed Moroccan wool. At first the bold central medallions catch the eye, but within these forms other patterns resolve with mesmerizing complexity. Notice, for instance, how intricate yet subtle the diamonds within diamonds are woven in the second image with such care that what could have been a field of uniform color is a just visible labyrinth for the eye. See also the subtlety of color in the weaving, shifting from pale rose to orange to even a tinge of green. Finally, this artist has utilized a technique that I have not seen previously: namely a break in the weaving in the center of the central diamonds intended to reveal the contrasting hue of the wool below. Wow.

There is a small hole in the corner as indicated in the picture, as well as a bit of wear on the side of another corner, but otherwise in good condition and equipped with a zipper.
