This remarkably vibrant pouf was woven in the southern Saharan region of Morocco by the Oulad Bou Sbaa tribe. The rich magenta wool and orange and coral highlights reflect the brilliance of a desert sunrise. Given the arid environment, the pile is considerably shorter than textiles in the collection that hail from cooler, mountain regions. Particularly charming are small dark tufuts of undyed black wool that suggest particular attachment to a beloved animal.
